In 2018, Beauty Scientist was founded as a science-led formulation consultancy specializing in the research and development of powdered oral supplements.

Drawing on years of hands-on experience in the beauty industry and as a social commerce entrepreneur, Mia gained a deep understanding of the challenges brand founders face during product development.

Beauty Scientist was created to address common industry pain points and translate real consumer needs into clear formulation strategies, helping founders develop distinctive, competitive products tailored to their brand positioning.

Expansion

Expanding Beyond Functional Foods

In response to growing market demand, Beauty Scientist expanded its capabilities beyond powder-based functional foods to include the development of health supplements registered under Malaysia’s MAL framework.

This expansion strengthened the group’s formulation and regulatory capabilities, enabling founders to explore more advanced product categories with greater confidence in product quality, documentation, and compliance.

Beauty Scientist began an R&D collaboration with Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) on the Sago Project.

Halal Certification & Global Market Readiness

To strengthen consumer trust in Malaysia and support brands expanding into international Halal markets, the group’s manufacturing facility obtained Halal certification.

This milestone enhanced the credibility and market readiness of the products we develop, giving our partner brands a stronger foundation for reaching Muslim consumers both locally and internationally.
